All the girls were tough today, for both teams, in this World Cup finals match. A big tip of the hat to Japan, who rallied and hung tough till the end, but this is a wonderful Fourth of July present for the US. Abby Wambach, holding the flag. Those girls are fierce. :)

It was a tough loss, but we beat Germany for third place (who we have not beaten in 20 attempts) and got further than we have in over 30 years, so it is something to build on.The attention of the nation is now on Andy Murray, Chris Froome, our cricket team, and Lewis Hamilton...we do love our sports in the UK even if we struggle!
