Circa 1858

The last one from my recent visit to the Museum of Transportation.... thanks for your tolerance.

According to the sign, the "Daniel Nason" engine is the only surviving example of a "Dutch Wagon" style of engine construction which was popular before the Civil War. This engine was running when Abraham Lincoln was alive, which was amazing to ponder (at least for me).

Feel free to scroll on past if the trains are just getting to be too much. I just want to make sure they are included in my project, before they become "fillers." Nerd on! :)

Enjoy your weekend, all.
Nice pic!

I love this shot!! Processing is fantastic, great lines in the background, fascinating engine. And it's age...wow...as it looks so shiny and new it could be a model train! Sad to see the series end...I've really enjoyed the images.
