Empty House

Up close and personal with the empty exoskeleton of a cicada, which I found outside my house while running many errands today. They are making a lot of noise outside, but I never see any... except for this shell, today. I can't imagine what this critter looked like when it was living inside!

These things are so gross and they cling to you if they fall on you!!! Unless they have the split down their backs, they are still in there!! I picked one up one day and shook it and it started buzzing!! Lord I nearly tinkled!! They actually are really pretty and a bug eyed way, when they come out!!!
