Joining the challenge to "get back to basics," learn more about my camera and no editing, here are street lights in an alley way. I liked the lines, the way green lights "stepped down" and away from each other. Getting it level and properly exposed, without editing, proved a challenge. I did figure out how to get my camera to shoot in b&w, but it wasn't effective for this shot.
Thanks, as always, for visiting. I appreciate each gift of time.

Wonderful pov, very creative composition. Rosie the little button with a wavey line right by the red button on top of the camera will allow you to increase or decrease
the shadow and highlights. This allows a lot of contrast and detail control in b & w.
@rosiekerr Yes I have an Em-1 too. You can use that adjustment to fine tone your color jpg also. I mostly use it in b & w if want higher contrast or want some more detail in the shadows.
Very cool! I almost always boost and crop a little, but still, I try to get the shot I want when I take the photo in the first place. A friend on 365 told me to do that when I first began, and I think it's good advice.
Well done -- well spotted repeating lights that are perfectly framed by the brick walls and path! This inspires me to travel only with my 50mm and do no editing for the weekend while visiting my mom. Traveling lighter would be good and this gives me a purpose!
@taffy Two days in... this has been a fun challenge, initiated by @richardsayer. I have given much more thought to the "click," since starting this exercise. I could have edited the heck out of of it, but it is fun to have my photography hands tied. :)
@rosiekerr I feel like I should benefit from doing this -- four days in a row, and some of those have to be in-camera b&w for our mentor group challenge this week. But I'm actually quite happy to not be thinking about how many lenses and which ones to take!
@taffy I find it difficult to get the time, but the benefits (even for two days) have been tremendous. I have a super camera, but this has forced me to consult the manual several times today. Quite the bonus.
Super shot and excellent perspective. I love the row of street lights and the narrow alleyway makes you want to breathe in as you virtually walk through the gap.
We're doing well, Rosie! Many thanks for asking. Life got overwhelming and something had to go...365 was it. Friends, here, convinced me not to stop all together but I can't post every day and comment like I used to. I'm pretty good at emailing. I'm at voiceprintz@gmail.com, should you care to stay in more regular contact. :)
This photo really gives me a feeling of closeness with the walls so close. I love the way the green lights show me the way out of the dark walls though!

Thanks so much for the time taken in sharing such a detailed and thoughtful comment on my textured Back Road photo.
Amazing shot - can feel the squeeze!
