Wellington Traffic by rosiekerr

Wellington Traffic

Standing at the top of the Wellington Arch, on the balcony. Traffic here is just insane. I am such a lame loser about carrying my tripod, so this shot is taken is balanced on the railing - hence, the shorter exposure time.

What a great city... so much depth and interest.

Thanks very much for taking time to visit. I appreciate your generous comments on my shots from this week - very kind.
wonderful motion and stillness.

Sure shows the contrast between my vine fast and wait. I'm impressed with your ability to take this without tripod

Oh, and I like it better with not too long jg a shutter speed

love the movement and stillness you have managed to capture

Carrying a tripod is tough - and who needs it when you can find a railing and take a great photo like this one. Great shutter length!

I like the motion blur, and the traffic doesn't seem too heavy either. What is in the background that looks like a Farris wheel?

Very cool shot

Really nice car blur showing how busy it is.

Great contrast between the cars waiting for the light, and the ongoing traffic. Good use of shutter speed to create an effect.

Great capture, depth, blur

Just exactly what @seattlite said! And without a tripod, no less!

@cejaanderson Iy is the London Eye. It is on the bank of the Thames River. You can ride it... 30 minutes for a full rotation. We may try it later this week. :)

i really like this image. the shutter speed is just right ..

Perfect shutter speed!! Well done without a tripod - you must have very steady hands.

Great fun with the motion in the center and all those cars in traffic stopped still!

Great image. You're not alone...I think tripods are overrated. In the rare instance you absolutely need the stabilization, there's usually a way to get it done...as you did with the railing. ;-) Again, very nice. I think the amount of motion blur is just right. Not too little, not too much.

a great shot and ideal time of day - I have been following your tourist photos and enjoyed your commentary - I hope you have had a great time. Although I have an office in the city (and one in Dorset) this is not a view I have seen! although driven around the arch on many occasions!

@handymaurice Oh, so nice of you! We have had a wonderful time. Climb up the Wellington Arches and you can see this, too. Such a fun city... I could photograph it for months.
November 11th, 2015
Wow! I took a photo OF the arch a while back, but not FROM it - great capture :)
