Blue Mesa

We visited the Painted Desert today (Arizona, USA), which includes part of the Petrified Forest (where ancient trees have become beautiful rocks). This section of the park is called "Blue Mesa." We hiked all around the pathways that are shown, below. The striations of color in the cliffs are pigments in the clay and rock. A very unique landscape, ancient from the time of Pangea, and totally fun to explore.
