One of the great things about St. Louis is Forest Park... an oasis of "wild" in the middle of the urban landscape. Went down after work, to see what I could find, in the drizzle and the cold grey.
Here is an egret. Of course, I was too slow to catch him flying, but he stood still long enough for me to catch him gazing about in the water for dinner.
Thanks for your kindness towards my Blue Angel shots over the past two days. It is really fun to see these planes fly in formation.

I really liked the summer I lived there. The botanical gardens are so beautiful...my husband proposed to me there. You captured wonderful details on the egret.
@tracys@rosiekerr I can add to that that Ken and I had our first actual date on a Sunday afternoon in Forest Park! He and his room mate & a friend of mine had driven to AZ for our spring break, and after returning, he asked me out. You're so correct..that amazing park is one of the great things about St Louis! A lovely photo, too, BTW!
