Our next stop... This particular tree is found at the edges of the Hill of Tara, ancient home of the pre-christian kings of Ireland. People still tie ribbons, strips of cloth or other memorabilia to the tree as a symbol for their prayers or wishes.
An ancient place... there is evidence of human activity here dating from about 5,000 years ago. The sweep of time is evident here.

I feel like I'm on your journey with you. It must be quite humbling to see some of these sites with such history, like this one with ancient times and the more recent history at the museum.

@rosiekerr Yes. It's set in Ireland in the 1820s, not the most cheerful book I've ever read, but I found it interesting. Hannah Kent wrote the best-seller Burial Rites (set in Iceland).
