I visited a lady who lives in this thatched bungalow on Friday but as I haven't had time to capture anything today, I thought I would continue with my theme of thatched cottages. I grew up in a thatched cottage and the lady was saying how wonderful it is to live in as it is cool in summer but in wintertime, she doesn't turn her heating on until lunchtime.
Have always wondered the reasons (apart from beauty) people chose Thatch. Could never get my wife interested in looking at one as she thought the vermin live in it. I have fav'd this picture postcard view.
@judithg No the cottage is bright and lovely despite having windows that are not very big. It's a really cosy place and the lady who lives there is in a wheelchair so it is really nice for her to be able to get around easily while still enjoying the beauty of a lovely old cottage
@caddick No you don't have vermin living in thatched roofs (well not from my experience). We have to be careful that squirrels don't get into our roof as we are surrounded by trees but we don't have a thatched roof here anyway.
