Female great tit by rosiekind

Female great tit

I've taken loads of pics as usual at Priory Country Park, Bedford this afternoon on the way to do the Sainsbury's shop. However, I really liked this pic from yesterday so decided to post it anyway. I have posted pics from today in my other albums including a collage of waterfowl as there were so many nice ones about.

Thanks for everyone's kind comments, favs and getting my woodpecker on PP again yesterday. I really do appreciate it.
What a great shot. Never seen these out my way not sure if we have them. Nicely done.

Rosie, this is another FAV for me. Your bird photos are always so lovely. What camera and lenses do you use?

@sue64 I have a Nikon Coolpix P510 with 42x optical zoom - it's a bridge camera but an amazing what it can achieve. I am stealing myself to get a DSLR but haven't had time to go and have a look at any yet. I need to feel them to see how heavy they are before I invest my money otherwise I would just buy online. I have been thinking about Nikon D7100 or D800 but of course its the lenses that you need to consider probably most. Any advice would be grateful. I keep reading the reviews but I think I really need to go and try some for myself as I always take handheld shots and am not sure whether either of these would be really OK for that. It's a lot of money to spend so I want to be sure that its the right camera for me

Hi Rosie. I'm a Canon girl and have the 7D and just recently purchased the 60D. Love them both - the 60D isn't as heavy as the 7D but only does about 5 fps whereas the 7D does 8fps. My favourite lens is the 70-200 f/2.8 but the one I use for the birds is the 100-400 f/4.5. Hope that helps a bit. . .
