I've had a wonderful day with Darren (Professional Photographer) who has shown me how to get started with my new camera. I have learnt a huge amount and now need to keep practising to ensure I don't forget what he has taught me. I need to get used to all the buttons and settings on it so that it becomes second nature as at the moment, I have to really think what I'm doing. I have also learnt a lot about composition and hope he won't see this one as I've placed the bird in the middle of the pic (ooh I couldn't help it honestly - it's a habit I've got to get rid of). However, I just loved the expression on this bird's face as he sat on the birdbath. This was taken on shutter priority. I had to tweak the exposure because I didn't check the settings as I shot this instinctively. Mental note: think before you shoot! LOL. I have also realised that I have set the date to May instead of June so I must correct this.
