First Fieldfare of the year by rosiekind

First Fieldfare of the year

I took this one along Wood Lane this afternoon and it's the first fieldfare I've managed to capture this year although I knew they had arrived some weeks ago. There was a small flock of them and I managed to get this pic which I was pleased with.

I haven't been to work today as I took some TOIL and spent the morning listening to a wildlife photographer speaking at the Forest Centre at Marston Vale Country Park. The event was free of charge and the speaker Derek Henderson gave an interesting talk with lots of lovely pics. I realised that I had met him before at Danish Camp when I wanted to buy a postcard of a starling with a sparrow on it's back but didn't have enough money as I only had my camera bag and I hadn't gone out to spend money! He said not to worry and let me have it with the few pence I had with me. It was nice to be able to pay him the full amount although he didn't remember that I owed it to him but I've now got a clear conscience!

I took my car for MOT this afternoon and it passed as I knew it would and they kindly washed and valeted it for me which was great as it really needed it!
A brilliant capture. Fav
