Happy to have the bird by rosiekind

Happy to have the bird

This was taken a while ago when I went to the Bird of Prey Centre in Herrings Green Farm, Wilstead. I came across it when I was looking through some RAW files and I like the happy look on this girl's face. We all had a chance to handle the birds and this bald eagle weighed very heavily on my arm when he came to me - a wonderful bird though.

I'm posting this one in my main album as I'm not really that pleased with the shots I took today although I will post some in my other albums. The trouble was I went for a very quick walk around Priory because I wanted to visit my daughter after doing the Sainsbury's shop. Poor Claire and her family had the holiday from hell - awful food in the hotel so they ate out despite paying for all inclusive and the children got stuck in the hotel lift which they had to take as they were on the 14th floor. They were stuck between floors for over an hour and Abby who is only 5 was terrified - poor thing. Abby is her neighbour's little girl as they went away together. She said that it would be the last holiday they had in Tenerife! Dylan fell and hurt his elbow and it was a feast day in Spain so there were no doctors to look at it. Fortunately, it was the day before they flew home so they landed up in our local A/E. He had to go to fracture clinic yesterday and he's now feeling very unwell with a temperature. Her other son who is 19 sadly is very unwell and in hospital in Luton 20 miles away so all in all she's had a very hard time. To cap it all, her poor little cat Parsley had to be put to sleep on Monday because the Vet thinks she had a tumour in her ear and one of her other cats has hurt her leg and so far vets bills have come to £250 and she's got to go back in 2 weeks. I just wanted to call to Claire and give her a hug!
Wow that sounds so bad, 365 hug for her.
