After a lesson from my friend @busylady I have found out how to use Picasa and have added a vignette to this shot. It is thanks to her that I can now do it so I am really grateful. We had a lovely afternoon together last Friday so thanks Judith.
I went to take Gordon for his MOT (that's my golf!) and so I couldn't go along Wood Lane where the garage is situated without my camera now could I?!!! A short walk up the lane resulted in me seeing this little robin all fluffed up against the harsh cold wind that's blowing. He kindly posed for a couple of seconds before flying away.
Fortunately, Gordon has passed his MOT so that's great for another year. This time though he didn't go to the main dealership where he would also have received a complete wash and brush up! Never mind - he is very dirty but he will have to bear with me.
The washing machine is lovely and I am now catching up with 10 days worth and it's a good blowy day so hopefully it will dry on the line. It is easy to use and quite self explanatory really which I like. When the men took my old one away, I told them that I'd had it for 22 years and they said that I would probably have this one for 20 so that pleased me. I've bought a Miele which wasn't cheap but I always believe that you get what you pay for.
I've also had some good news from our local DI to say that the burglars who broke in and stole a car from the village on 5 November have been to court and been sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison. I didn't expect the case to come up so quickly but it is all due to the evidence on the CCTV cameras we have installed and I'm glad I contributed my bit towards it. A house in the village had an attempted break in the other night in order to steal a staffie dog and her 8 puppies! The thieves are marking people's gates with chalk where they have dogs and then back during the night and try to steal them. They are particularly interested in breeding dogs and a poor little cockapoo which was stolen in Biggleswade had it's paw cut off to remove the microchip and then was left to die because they realised the dog had been spayed. How cruel that is!!!! Poor little dog was found badly decomposed as it was about 6 weeks ago that it was stolen. There really are some evil people about.
A SUPER capture Rosie , I do find the vignette or frosting the edges does sometimes enhance the image by making it more prominent Love the Robin A fav !
I think the vignette works really well here Rosie and the colours are beautiful. So sad about the poor little dog, there certainly are some evil people in this world!
What a tail of woe regarding the dogs, all through our village we had our garden ornaments stolen and although we knew who it was they never proved anything. Hence I also have CCTV all round, the person did have his comeuppance however and went down for 18 months for putting a broken glass into someone face in London. Lovely capture and my favourite birdie gets a FAV.
It seems to be getting worse - the dognappers. It is awful. Super photo. It is great fun learning new editing techniques. I am having to wait to purchase photoshop as my husband bought me the book and then ours died. I have been using the picmonkey.
Beautiful robin - I thought about you as I was unsuccessfully stalking robins by the river yesterday - don't know how you persuade all these birds to keep still! Very upsetting about the dogs - evil is the word.
Fav for this lovely robin..............I bought a new washing machine today, dithered around, looked at every brand and finally went with a Samsung, after my Dyson died after 14 years........delivery Saturday and like you, have loads to catch up on!!
@pixiemac Thanks and I hope our new ones last as long as our old ones! The chaps who delivered it said that it will probably last 20 years and it did say that on the internet which is why I chose it! Expensive but if it lasts so well it will be worth it! I'm pleased that it's easy to use too
done but like it.
It's horrible that some people steal pets :(
