Before I went to work this morning, I had to stop and take a quick shot of this lovely rose bud. I have done my first day of new hours 9.30 until 2.30 and it was OK as I went to do the food shopping straight from work. It wasn't quite so hot today and I discovered that the air conditioning at work had stopped working but the engineer came to fix it while I was there. I had already decided not to go to Priory Country Park on the way to the shops so I am pleased to say that my shopping has all been put away and I am now enjoying a nice cold glass of water. I am practicing what I preach as I have been going round to encourage people at the coffee mornings to drink more, especially cold drinks to help them stay cool. Elderly people often don't feel thirsty and they often worry about getting up to the loo at night and this prevents them from drinking enough. I should know as when I was nursing, we had people admitted to hospital simply because they had become dehydrated and confused.
Thank you for all your great comments and Favs and for getting yesterday's swan shot on PP
Beautiful shot, I love the lighting. The same happens here too. When the temperature starts getting above 40 (104 F), the elderly get dehydrated and can go into cardiac arrest. Our EMR calls go through the roof.
