This is a filler as I have only just got home having spent the afternoon sheltering from the rain under a tarpaulin! Our friends who have a boat on the river invited us along and we didn't realise that they had invited us for food as well. Unfortunately, it rained but us Brits won't be put off so they erected a tarpaulin over the garden chairs that we were sitting on in the middle of a clearing on an island not far from from Barford. We went there on Daniel's small boat but I couldn't relax and was scared it was going to tip over! I'm OK in cruisers but getting into a small boat that's low in the water with a wet bank is not my idea of fun so we walked back to our car via a pathway across some fields. We took a wrong turn I think and instead of following the river landed up walking a lot further and ended up walking through a farmyard. Oh well all's well that ends well
