When I talk to the robins, they sit and look at me as if they are listening to what I say. They probably pose nicely when I tell them that I can make them a star! I never tire of seeing and hearing them and although I think they are one of my favourite birds, I keep saying that about lots of birds so I really don't know which ones are my favourite.
I am posting early today as I have to go and get my prints from the people who have mounted them and also to pick up John Steinbeck's "The grapes of wrath" that I have requested from the library. It is a book I have never read and after reading a quick precis of what the book is about, I thought it might be interesting. It will seem strange having a book in my hand when I am reading in bed tonight as I usually read from my kindle. I am also off to camera club tonight as I have entered 2 prints and 2 projected images so I shall see how I get on.
Thanks for viewing and commenting on my project. It is always much appreciated.
Loving your bird shots Rosie!! I think the robin is my favourite garden bird too - they are so obliging when they pose for us!! Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!! My new tripod and camera bag have arrived so I need to practice using them!! LOL!! FAv!
A cute robin! I taught "Grapes of Wrath" for many, many years, and now my book club is reading it as we decided we wanted a classic and I had so much background in it. I will tell you that it is a quest, as most stories centered around a road are (in this case Route 66 in the American West). The elements of a quest are: 1. There is at least one character on a journey. 2. There is a stated destination. 3. There is a stated purpose. 4. There are obstacles along the way. and 5. At the end, the real reason for the journey is revealed to be a change within the protagonist(s). You should get to Chapter 3 tonight, so I will tell you also that the turtle is a symbol for the Joad family. Also, Jim Casy (JC) is a Christ figure.
