Yes that's me! In the pink! I have been to the hospital this morning, I've had my xray and the consultant Mr Garde told me that I can start walking on it, driving, etc. He has told me to take the crutches and the boot home and if necessary, use the boot if things become difficult. I couldn't believe the fact that I have had to learn how to walk on both feet again! It feels so strange and I have managed to get a shoe on but I daren't take it off because I don't think I will be able to get it on again and we are out for a pizza tonight. It's my turn to drive after 6 weeks off! I have been to do the food shopping and so I haven't had to do it online. It was lovely to be able to walk round the supermarket and pick my own fruit and veg, etc.
Thanks for all your kind comments on my Norfolk pics and for getting a couple of them on PP - it is always much appreciated.
@aglennc I had my big toe remodelled and the joint fused as the joint had"virtually disintegrated" according to the surgeon and this was due to osteoarthritis
You must be so pleased to be mobile again. When I had surgery after fracturing my ankle a few years ago, I was out of action for about 6 months and I had to learn how to walk again too. Isn't it lovely to be independent again.
@onewing I'm back to normal now, but I'm going back into surgery this Monday..... this time for a total shoulder replacement. I knew this was coming and set the date for surgery when I had my post operation check up for my pelvis surgery...... (I've already had four total joint replacements --- both knees and both hips. I'm a gluten for punishment, I guess.) Osteoarthritis is the cause for it all.
@rosiekind Oh no. That's the same reason I've had four total joint replacements, both hips and both knees, and I'm having a total shoulder replacement this Monday. Before all replacements, including this one the joints have been bone on bone...... and painful.
