I thought I would take a look down the brook in the hope of seeing a kingfisher but I didn't just see one, I saw 2 or it could have been 3 or I saw the second one twice! They have cut down the overgrowth of weeds so it is now possible to walk along the length of the brook. This is a juvenile male as he has a white dot on the end of his beak and I spent a whole hour with him. He just didn't seem to take any notice of me and I got to within about 8ft of him. During that hour, he only caught one fish but spent a lot of time grooming in the sunshine.
I am posting this one early for tomorrow as I won't have time for photos.
Certainly a juvenile as he has the light bulb and also black feet. I thought that as the lower beak was black it would be a male but I have been told that could change as well as the feet going orange.
Lucky you Rosie and a great capture Fav.
