On a differnet perch

This perch is actually out of my view but I noticed that the kingfishers were perching below their normal perch. I had to move my tripod and adjust my camera and as soon as I had done that, of course the kingfisher perched on his usual perch! However, I moved things around a couple of times and got 4 photos in the space of 2.5 hours. Oh you do need a lot of patience when photographing these birds and they seem to be getting more cunning by the day! However, I was determined to get some and it obviously paid off. I did see them flying past me several times and if the camera had been in my hand not on a tripod, I would probably have got some shots of them in flight. I must take another camera with me but I'm loaded up with things to sit on so it's hard to carry anything more!

Thanks for your kind comments and Favs - it is much appreciated.

They are such a challenge aren't they!
My one yesterday delighted in hiding just behind a stick to throw the focus off or behind a leaf!
