Nuthatch by rosiekind

Nuthatch

I don't often see the nuthatch but I went for a walk at the RSPB in Sandy and saw him there. I really went to see whether I could see the hobby chicks but alas no luck. However, I thought I would take a walk across the heath as I haven't been along that path before and it was very nice even though it's another grey day!

Then I went to the hide. On the way, I stopped to chat to a very nice man and we had a great conversation about cameras, birds etc. When you have a camera in your hand, it's as good as a dog as people stop and chat with you. I have been putting my new lens through it's paces so this was shot with the 300mm prime lens with 2x teleconverter and so far, I am quite happy with it. Much less weight but more length than my other lenses.

Thanks for getting 3 of my images on PP yesterday. You really are most kind.
