Saffron by rosiekind

Saffron

These flowers come up every year in our garden. They are summer crocuses that don't have leaves. The orange stamens are what colours saffron which is very expensive to buy and use in cooking. I always think they look pretty as they grow underneath the shadow of our neighbour's trees and like us, are determined to carry on enjoying our garden despite the neighbours!

Thanks for viewing and commenting on my project. It is always much appreciated.
Beautiful. Fav!! 😀

Very pretty, don't think I've come across summer crocuses before. Neighbours can be a problem, luckily all ours are good - now!

A stunning shot Rosie. Is that the real saffron or is it a different variety? I was under the impression it only grows in very few countries.
