I was surprised to see this little blue tit sitting on the path and just had to rush upstairs to get my camera. I wondered whether it would still be there but it was so I managed to get this shot. When I came back from doing the shopping, this poor little bird was lying dead. I was so saddened and it was the second young bird that I had found in the garden this morning. The little blackbird was still alive when I went out to help it as I think it may have flown into the glass windows of our conservatory but I think it had broken it's neck. I just couldn't kill it to put it out of it's misery and neither could Steve so we left it laying there after giving it several strokes. What a sad day! The saving grace came when I picked up what I thought was the top of a tomato but discovered that it was a big bumble bee. Fortunately, he didn't sting me before he fell into the sink. I fished him out and took him outside to set him free and he must have dried out and flown away.
Thanks for getting all 3 of my images on PP and for all your kind comments and Favs. It is always much appreciated.
Aww .. poor little thing. It could have fallen out of the nest, as it doesn't seem old enough to fly yet. At least you made it live on with this photo.
Oh shame Rosie, what an ordeal! It is so sad that these little ones try to fly and don't know where they are going.A stunning shot of this little fellow, he does not look too happy though. Fav for the lovely capture.
nature seems to be harsh at this stage of the fledgings lives. Seems they come out of the nest so quickly, another photograher/birder told me its because once their flight wings are in they come out of nest ,stay nearby to grow tail feathers that don`t have room to grow in nest. It makes sense but quite difficult for the little ones.
