You can always rely on Robbie! After taking this, I saw another of my favourite little birds on the suet.
I have spent most of the afternoon completing a schedule 1 licence application to photograph the kingfishers so fingers crossed. I wouldn’t have to be doing that if hide man hadn't appeared on the scene and I suspect that he doesn't have a licence but I can't take that chance.
Thank you for all your kind comments and Favs and for getting yesterday's Squizzer on PP. It is always much appreciated.
Really wow I would never have thought one would require a licence to take photos of Kingfishers , what is the reasoning behind this ,do you know by any chance ?
Lovely capture in wonderful detail and colour, I'm a little surprised to hear about the schedule 1 licence for taking photographs of Kingfishers, I understand it was for taking photographs of rare or endangered birds near or on the nest only I would not have thought it applied to the images you have posted on 365 project Rosie:)
@gilbertwood@Dawn You need a licence if you're photographing them near their nest as they are protected birds in the UK. I have never disturbed the birds but another person who wanted to sit in the spot I have used in the past 2 years meant that I was told I couldn't sit there as I don't have a licence
@pcoulson kingfishers are on the list of protected birds and the ones I have photographed have been not far from their nest. See my comment above Peter as to the reason I have had to apply for a licence
