I was spoilt for choice today as I have seen some lovely insects and birds and had a kingfisher flying over my head twice! Sadly I didn't get a photo of him.
Anyway, I didn't know what this insect was until I looked in a book at RSPB and discovered that it's a humming bird hawk moth. I have never seen one before so it was a first for me. They are really hard to capture as they flit from flower to flower and it's difficult to know where they will hover next. It was also difficult to choose which one to post as I had several from different angles but decided on this one anyway. It is hovering by what I think is a wild sweet pea.
For other different photos, take a look at my other albums if you have time. In the meantime, thank you so much for all your Favs and comments. It is very much appreciated.
