For some reason we don't get house sparrows down our end of the road despite me telling them that I have plenty of good food for them! Anyway, I saw this fellow when I was walking down towards the brook. I haven't been down the brook for ages and it still pains me to think about the fact that I have a licence to photograph the kingfishers but I am not allowed to! Anyway, I walked the length of the other half of the brook and it was lovely in places where the trees provided shade. I heard the kingfisher as soon as I crossed the bridge. Perhaps he was letting me know that he's OK. I thought he had flown the way that I was walking but I didn't see him so I expect I was wrong and he was in his usual spot.
