Interestingly we had a couple of Blackbird with white markings at our last place Rosie, I checked it out at the time, its as Anne @sunnygreenwood says its Leucism (abnormal white or pale plumage due to a lack of melanin pigment) can occur in any bird species but does seem to be particularly common in Blackbirds. It is caused by a genetic mutation so it's not unusual to find several affected birds in the same area,
Lovely capture Rosie. My garden Blackbird has a lot of white on him at the moment as he does every year in September only. I thought it due to him moulting the poor thing looks worn out after all his hard work with 3 broods
