Female chaffinch by rosiekind

Female chaffinch

I saw this lovely chaffinch when I went for a walk along Wood Lane this morning. The sun is shining but the wind is cold but I was pleased that I made the effort to go all the way past Hill Farm as I saw 3 wheatears which I don't see very often at all. They were pecking around the farmers paddock.

I saw lots of birds - several whitethroats, yellowhammer, buzzard, red kite and of course a robin. There seems to be a lot of birds about at the moment and I was really pleased to see a female sparrow in the garden today when I put the food out first thing this morning. We don't usually get sparrows so it was a real treat to have one in the garden as they usually live down the other end of the road.

Thank you for getting both of yesterdays photos on PP and for all your kind comments and Favs. It is always much appreciated.
Beautiful shot and lovely dappled light.
