I'm not sure why this pic has white bits in the sky or how I achieved this pic to look like this. I think it must have been sheer fluke but I rather liked the effect. I wondered whether I had something on the lens so cleaned it when I had seen the pic on my laptop. However, I really like the effect of this tree with the snow and what looks like a dark blue sky. How it came out like that I don't know as this is SOOC. Any ideas?

I too think it's lovely. I may well be totally wrong of course but it looks like you've caught the snow hanging on some of the branches in the distant trees maybe? ...Cleaning one's lens is no bad thing of course!!
