Bee orhid - Ophrys apifera

This is a very rare wild flower now but a friend told me that there is just one growing in his 6 acre field so I just had to go and get a picture while it is still in flower. Funnily enough there is a fly sitting atop the first lot of petals. I always thought that these were called "bee orchis" in the wild flower books when I was a child. I've just googled it and decided I must have dreamt that! I have now put the Latin name beside it.
really cool looking flower

Fabulous and such great detail. I found one of these in a field near us last year and have been looking for it again recently. No luck so far. Fav!
