I took this one as I had crossed the lock where one of the volunteers who manage the boat was sitting on a seat waiting for the boat to come back so that he could manage the lock. I had a long chat with him and he was really nice and interested in my camera and photography. I didn't feel at all threatened by him as he was an older gentleman and I found out that he lived in a nearby town (not Bedford). He was an interesting man to talk to and agreed with me that life is just not the same these days when people cannot walk about without feeling frightened. Unfortunately, we have all sorts of people around Bedford who do not seem to respect our English traditions and older people.
