This lad was singing on a street corner and he was absolutely brilliant. He had a voice that sounded like Simon & Garfunkle and we thought he had a harmony box but he didn't. His voice was so lovely harmonising with brilliant guitar playing. It brought tears to Steve's eyes hearing him sing. Steve and his friend Dave used to sing a lot of Simon & Garfunkle songs as they harmonise so beautifully but Dave moved up to the Shetland Islands and so they stopped playing together. However, he has now moved back down this way but he's quite a distance away from where we live so they rarely sing together now. It's such a shame as they are really good. They also sing Chas & Dave songs too!
Anyway, this lad told us to speak to his other ear when Steve stopped to ask him about his amp, etc. because he's deaf. He wears a hearing aid in one ear - what a pleasure listening to him. Alas though it didn't last long as the heavens opened and so he packed his things on a bike and road away. All good things come to an end I suppose.
Such a lovely talent to have ....singing gives such pleasure to others. I think it must be one of the most sought after talents one could have in life. Good for this young man & a hurdle to climb first too.
Such a nice experience! Most deaf people that I've heard sing in at least a slight monotone, so it is wonderful that this young man is able to both sing and play well. Nice photo to capture the experience, also!
