On the way to Sainsbury's I just had to have a quick walk into Priory Country Park and after photographing the Egyptian Geese, I said to myself "I haven't seen a heron for ages" and lo and behold, there he was. He didn't mind me getting quite close to him although he was on the opposite bank. I really wanted to get some shots of him flying so I shook my hand at him (which was stupid) and he did fly off but of course my camera wasn't focused on him. He flew fairly low above the water so I didn't get any decent shots.
Never mind, there's always another day!
