Lonely dove

This could be one of the parents of the collared doves we took to the Rescue Centre but he/she does look rather lonely. She just sat in the tree and I always used to see a pair of them but just lately there is only one and so I can only assume that her mate has died. Poor little thing - she does look lonely

So sad when there is only one --I had a regular pair coming into the garden until one day a sparrow hawk swooped down and took one away in its talons ! I had a lonely one for ages and then there were none ! Nature can be so cruel !
