Nice to see a yellowhammer as I haven't seen one for ages. On Countryfile this week they showed a farmer who had been encouraging birds and other wildlife by sowing seeds to encourage all sorts of lovely wildflowers. Because of this, the number of birds had increased and I can't help wondering why more farmers don't set aside some land for wildlife. Unfortunately, the farmer in Wood Lane has destroyed some of the hedgerows which is probably why there has been a decline in these lovely little birds.
