I thought I would post this today so that I can update you on what happened today at the hospital. I was all prepared, was anaethetised, woke up in recovery only to be told that my operation was abandoned. The reason was that the top form with my consent had the correct details on it but the page underneath had someone elses name on it so following National Policy, the operation did not go ahead. Although the surgeon confirmed that this was indeed me, the theatre sister who was my advocate once in theatre could not ask me to confirm my details so it could not go ahead. However, they have rebooked my operation for 2 weeks time. I have had 8 operations during my life and only one has gone correctly so I suppose I was not surprised and I told them the good thing that has come from this is that I shall be able to see the Eye Surgeon without being on crutches! I am a strong believer that out of bad something always good comes out of it so it's a good job I am a positive person! I had 4 people including the Director of the hospital in my room to apologise and an investigation will be carried out to see how this happened. Anyway, I have been taking it easy and took this shot through the kitchen window.

Oh my goodness,Rosie what a shock for you! It's so awful it's almost funny! What an awful mistake to make! At least as you say you will be able to have your eye done while you are not on crutches! How lucky that you are such a positive person! Lovely shot by the way!

Oh Rosie what an ordeal for you. At least you have a positive approach to the problem which is good.

Great capture. Wow, that is some ordeal. Can't believe that they would put you under and then discover the paperwork mistake. Somebodies head should roll over that . Hopefully next time, all will go as planned.
