The west door by rumpelstiltskin

The west door

This is the entrance to Croydon Minster. The church is thought to have been founded in Saxon times, and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. Six Archbishops of Canterbury were buried here, but the medieval building was damaged by fire in 1867. Parts of the old church survived, including the west tower, and the church was redesigned by George Gilbert Scott.
