East Surrey Memorial Chapel by rumpelstiltskin

East Surrey Memorial Chapel

All Saints Church in Kingston was built in 1120 on the site of a royal estate where Saxon kings were crowned. Kingston's links with the East Surrey Regiment go back to 1782, and in 1920 the Chapel of Holy Trinity at All Saints was restored and dedicated to the regiment. The wooden panels contains memorials to officers who served, and there are Books of Remembrance (or 'of life') for those who died in twentieth century conflicts.
