Looking west to the Mt Lebanon range.
We had a wonderful trip to Taanayel monastery in the Bekaa Valley where USAID are helping to provide quality Holstein milking cows and agricultural advice.
We met 9 year old Ola and some of her family who are Syrian refugees. She has not been to school during the year that they have been in Lebanon. Their living conditions are incredibly primitive, their smiles were genuine, their curiosity about me, my kids, my life was sincere, their future is uncertain at best. I was so humbled.
Interesting Ruth about the cows & such a worthwhile cause. There used to be a charity in England where you could donate either cows or heifer calves to go to third world countries. It humbles you when you read about families who have nothing & I was at there supermarket today stuffing my cupboards with food.
Wonderful composition to this shot,Ruth! You did an amazing job with the light for that time of day! I love all the different colors you captured as well! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
@grammyn Thanks Katy!I really want some filters because the strength of the light even at 9 in the morning is horrid and it's too difficult to get any sky with colour. @mwarren365 Mike it's snow.......we had plenty this year...we skied...this range of mountains are about 2200m.....
That is lovely. The foreground pattern is really engaging and the mountain backdrop is lovely. A great capture.
