Little old lady from Koura.

Summer is back!! 32'C today.....a great reason to leave Beirut and head north to Koura - famous for reputedly the largest olive plains in the world!!! We saw thousands and thousands of olive trees......can't wait to go back for the harvest!
This tiny woman was walking on the road.......she said she was 75 years old, had 7 children who had died and 7 who were married. We offered her a ride and she regaled us with all sorts of tall stories until we dropped her some 5 miles away at her house; she had been planning to walk...until night she said (about 6 hours!).

Thanks for all recent comments and visits...always very much appreciate your time in doing so.
What character in her face you have captured! You photos are all so worhty of walls and museums! Please never stop showing them here!

Fantastic story in her face...and probably in the soles of her shoes too (5 miles in 32 degrees is just not funny)

She sounds like a remarkable woman. I love how you captured the years (good and bad) etched onto her face. One doesn't have to be young to be beautiful as you've so richly displayed in this photograph.

She must have been so grateful to you for the lift but there again would take the walk in her stride...so to speak!!! The ladies of Beirut don't spend a fortune on cosmetics but have faces full of character, beauty in itself!
