Anzac Day Memorial Service by ruthmouch

Anzac Day Memorial Service

Being woken by the alarm in the darkness at 4am is necessary if you want to attend the dawn (5am) Memorial Service for Anzac Day, hosted by the Australian Embassy at the Commonwealth Cemetery. It was chilly and very windy but there was a good turnout of Ambassadors and guests who remembered those from the southern hemisphere who willingly gave their lives so that others need not. This was followed by a "Gunshot Breakfast" and something to spike your tea with if desired courtesy of the Australian Ambassador! By 6:30am folk were beginning to depart and the sun had come out!
This is beautiful. Anzac Day dawn services are always very special.
