Idolised since 9000BC!!!

It's fig time!!!!! Fresh, ripe figs have the most wonderful taste and aroma, I love them soft and very sweet, green always seem better than their darker skinned relative. The first half dozen never get wiped or washed but are eaten as soon as I'm through the door.
Possibly the world's first domesticated plant, oft hailed as a fruit of holiness, sexuality and all things regal, fragile to transport and if picked too soon, a sad representation of a sweet and mature fruit.
Thankfully these heavenly bites are rich in soluble fibre, natural sugars, minerals and antioxidant Vitamins A and K.
Yay for the fig!
Finding life rather odd as I prepare to relocate permanently back to Wales in a couple of weeks........Blessed in so many, many ways.
Beautiful shot! Fav

Fabulous, I have tried and failed to grow figs in the south of England but maybe with global warming, who know in the future?

I'm not sure I've ever been lucky enough to eat a really ripe fig...I think too often the store-bought ones are picked green. I'm glad you are able to enjoy this treat before your travel across the globe.

I'd love to eat freshly picked figs like those!
I've been in Vietnam for just 6 years, I can imagine just some of your feelings as you relocate after a much longer time away.
