The laundry room at the abandoned old penitentiary in Boise, Idaho has a lot of mysterious machinery. The dark dusty room was a challenge to photograph, but was my favorite room in the complex.
Nice composition and great B&W

We gotta see this place sometime! Looks like something my husband would especially like. He's an "old machinery" and "old gadget" guy.

I like your composition on this Scott.

This is really nice in b&w. I like that it has a bit of history--must have a story to tell (or two).

@kbird61 @aglennc @michaelelliott @darylo Thanks, everyone. Most of the rooms here are off-limits or have been stripped of equipment, but the laundry room is full of great stuff. The facility gave me the creeps in a lot of places.

I like your diagonal lines. I really like the jagged lines juxtaposed against the smooth ones. Kind of has a spooky feel to it.

The little glint of light, nearly center, on the wheel. That's my favorite bit.
Nicely composed.

@karenmatthews @roadshow This whole place has an eerie feeling. Thank you both for your great comments.

Love your composition, Ross. Great balance and detail. Looks very nice in B&W, too.

So appreciated your fav fav this week, Ross. It's funny how the times that I've gotten up there have been for my quirky shots. That reminds me to do more of them. Hoping you are quirky, too. Following you now.:)

Sounds like a place that was laced with pain.i like how you zoomed right in on the subject

@amandal Me... quirky? Never. Except maybe something like this: http://365project.org/rvwalker/365/2013-01-22

Following you with anticipation!

@monkeykid @libertylady @pflaume Thanks, everyone. I enjoyed the odd machinery in this room.

@jgpittenger Thanks, Jane. Yes... it was not a cheerful place. In fact, there were Death Row cells that I couldn't bring myself to photograph.

@rvwalker Wow, I wouldn't have been able to either

Interesting composition! Great in B/W

Ha, I can just see you being a dad and dragging the little ones to the intelligent engineering stuff, with them constantly tugging on you sleeve to leave lol.
But beautifully shot in that dingy room of yours

@amrita21 Thanks, Amrita. The mechanical forms seemed right for B&W.

@gigiz You are close to the truth, Gigi. I probably inherited some of that interest from my Dad, who built the machinery for a factory. I probably drove my son crazy with stuff like this.
