Reach For The Peak

Frost on wheat grass in a roadside planter. By now, many of you will recognize the mountain.

I've fallen far enough behind that there is no way I can comment on every photo in my stream, so if I miss one of yours that you really want me to see, please let me know. Sorry, but sometimes life gets in the way.
Awesome capture! Love it!

Love the way the frosty branches arch over the mountain peak. I also really like the shades of blue in the sky. Very pretty!

Not enough time in day to keep up with it all for sure.

What a gorgeous photo, Ross. We pass by a patch of something similar to this every weekend and since I do not drive and hubby does, no way to stop and get a photo. We do not have the spectacular background that you do though so I could not touch what you have captured here. Our state is officially in a drought with no rain in site. Lakes are so dry and little snow in the mountains. In the 70's here in No Ca with no rain in the forecast. Hay being brought in for cattle, horses, etc. I am behind as well, nothing new. Been playing with my videos from the park on Facebook and cleaning out my computer to get more room in it. I hope all is going well. Take care.

What a beautiful shot of a cold winter scene. The contrast of the soft brush with the mountains is very effective!
January 18th, 2014
Gorgeous shot, Ross. I love how the grasses frame and point to those beautiful mountains. Wonderful.
January 18th, 2014
Beautifully captured, love the frosted wheat grass.

@nicolecampbell I appreciate the fav, Nicole. This was another scene very close to home.
January 18th, 2014
@darsphotos All is well here, Darlene, but we too are having a very dry winter. There should be five times as much snow as you see in my photos.

@sharrystar @taffy @cathieg @sansjuan Thanks for your great comments, everyone. I enjoy reading what you like or don't like about the photos.
January 18th, 2014
@rvwalker Yep, it is super dry here as well. We are about the same as you, need a lot more rain and snow in the Sierras. Friend of mine in the Redding area said she has never seen Lake Shasta so low. Folsom lake is really bad as are all the lakes. 70's here and warmer in So CA. Crazy weather. I look forward to rain coming soon and snow and more fabulous photos with rain here and more snow there.

Lovely shot! The beautiful blue sky makes the frosty grass stand out even better! :)

Beautiful image. Great frosty photo. Maybe after Wed I will even see these better!! At least that is what I am hoping for.

@soboy5 @anazad511 @ivan @monkeykid Thanks for your comments, everyone. Our high elevation produces super-blue skies that really help images like this one.
January 19th, 2014
@libertylady I hope everything goes OK, Alice. After looking at the TT this week, I can't imagine how good you will do if you can see better!
January 19th, 2014
I thought I had already commented on this...love the delicate icy grasses and what a stunner of a background
January 19th, 2014
@jgpittenger Thanks, Jane. It is just down the street from home. I like the views I see around your home even better!
January 19th, 2014
Wow, stunning. Love your point of view and the way it makes the grass looks superior to the mountains
January 19th, 2014
@angiec Thanks, Angie. I'm sure people in the area were wondering what two guys were doing in the snowy road taking pictures here.
