Plowing For Santa by rvwalker

Plowing For Santa

We had a few more inches of snow last night, and this little jeep is plowing the sidewalks in downtown Montpelier. There was a Christmas craft fair in this empty store just before Christmas, and I'll bet the Santa sign will still be there this summer.
Catching the plow by the Santa's Workshop sign was great timing or planning Ross. Love the red of the jeep. I wish they would plow the sidewalks around here.

Haha! Great catch with the Santa sign on the door. With all that snow, you would think it WAS Christmas.... Great splash of red on the jeep.

@mccarth1 @aglennc @kbird61 @dgrynn Thanks, everyone. I like this photo because I had one of these little army surplus jeeps when I was a kid in Connecticut, and made a few dollars plowing driveways with it. They need to be small to be able to drive on the sidewalks like this.

Too funny!

That`s a great funny shot,I can`t believe how thick the snow is.

Wonderful street scene -- I love that a truck plows the sidewalks!

@moxy @skippysue @taffy Thanks, everyone. One of the things I like about 365 is the chance to share our local quirks and customs. Not every photo needs to be great art, and I thought this was fun.

A wonderfully timed shot! I love that the Christmas sign is still on the door, wonderful!

hehehehe.... very cool shot! Haha, I'm glad we're not the only ones who have posters and signs staying around for ages! It's presidential elections here in South Africa in 2/3 months, so all the political parties are hanging campaigning posters around... but after elections, these posters remain hanging around town for months!!!!

@sansjuan @monkeykid Thanks, Nita and Therese. There are other windows in town that have signs that are a decade old. It is partly because we have so many empty stores, which is a problem in small town America. It can make amusing photos though.

haha wow still so much snow!

Great composition - the old red jeep with the homemade wooden enclosure is very interesting. Lots of details worth looking at enlarged here,

Spring is on its way! :-)

Great jeep and scene here. Love the color. You have a lot of snow still. It is looking like spring here nowadays.

@soboy5 This is nostalgic for me, Danny. As a kid in CT I had an army surplus jeep with a homemade sheet metal cab. I used to plow driveways to make a few dollars.

@michaelelliott @ivan @fueast @libertylady We are still getting plenty of fresh snow nearly every night. Spring is a long way off her in the valley.

A slice of America!!

@seanoneill Definitely a small town scene. Unfortunately, the closed stores are a slice of America too.

What a wonderful shot and love seeing the Christmas shop behind the jeep. I just love your snowy photos. It is so white and detailed.

That's a lot of snow! Great color of the jeep.

@darsphotos @pflaume Thanks, Darlene and Lisa. The snow just keeps coming after a slow start.

@rvwalker Hey, we are getting rain for 4 days starting tomorrow morning, on and off within two systems, one on Wednesday and a stronger one on Friday, should help us a lot. Yay for the rain and snow that we get. More snow in the mountains here. Will take all we can get.
February 25th, 2014
hahaha. oh wait, do YOU still have your sense of humor with all that snow???
February 26th, 2014
@roadshow Oh yeah! We have a lot more on the way over the next few days, Gloria.
