View Property - Cheap

Even the abandoned houses have great views around here. This morning the sky was crystal clear, except for a few low clouds near the mountains. This photo is for black and white Wednesday.

Trending.
Beautiful scenery. Love the tones with the trees through the snow and the clouds partially up the mountains.

yes yes yes - - fav. I have a hard time getting full pic of abandoned spaces - because I want to get right up in there and document all the details.....but this one is a good example of what a little context can do.

Great b&w and lovely low laying clouds!
March 12th, 2014
Gorgeous shot!!!! This looks so much like the barn down the street from me. Love the effect in B&W. FAV!

Love the layers in this -- and the sense of very wide open space.
March 13th, 2014
What a stunning backdrop! A beautiful scene! Fav!
March 13th, 2014
Nice shot Ross - the low clouds are a great addition to the scene. I'll bet it was pretty in color too.

@sticksandstones Thanks for the fav and your wonderful comment, Jenny. I like detail too, but the surroundings can be important to the story sometimes.
March 13th, 2014
Love the moodiness to the image in b&w. Fab! fav!

@carolnorman Thanks for the fav, Carol. I think someone lived here relatively recently because it has a modern electric meter. This is on the same street as my house, about 1/2 mile away.
March 13th, 2014
@pamknowler Thanks for the fav, Pam. I never get tired of the mountains here.
March 13th, 2014
@amandal Thank you for the fav, Amanda. I think the low clouds add to that moodiness.

@coreylablansphotography @kbird61 @taffy @mccarth1 Thanks, everyone. Today was one of those special, crystal clear days. Very photogenic.

Beautiful! I love the line of clouds below the tops of the mountains. In a week I'll be visiting my daughter in Colorado so I hope to get some beautiful mountain shots, too.

@libertylady Thanks for the fav, Alice. This is close to my house but this is the first time it has been on my 365 project.
March 13th, 2014
@sahmamma Thanks for the fav, Catherine. This is another scene that looks much better in winter than summer.
March 13th, 2014
@dejongdd Great! I hope you can get some snow scenes. Have a safe trip, Deb.
March 13th, 2014
@soboy5 Thanks, Danny. The color version was nice too, so it was a tough choice.
March 13th, 2014
Great b&w and the lovely low laying clouds!
March 13th, 2014
So gorgeous, Ross. Wonderful crispness, and I love the wisp of cloud. Beautiful!
March 13th, 2014
This is PRETTY. I like the line of clouds cutting through the mountains. Such a quiet and chilly scene.
March 13th, 2014
Wonderful clarity and processing
March 13th, 2014
Very nice in BNW, Great capture
March 13th, 2014
What beautiful crisp light and I love the cloud line on the mountain. Especially nice in black and white.
March 13th, 2014
@anazad511 @cathieg @aglennc @flyrobin @simster @falcon11 Thanks, everyone. I'm glad you can still enjoy this after seeing so many snow photos lately.

fantastic image!
March 13th, 2014
Beautifully captured! You captured a fantastic sense of desolation captured here!
March 13th, 2014
Beautiful! The mountains look amazing!
March 13th, 2014
@blueberry1222 @monkeykid @kwind Thanks, everyone. This scene is just down the road from where I live. It looks remote, but our little town is nearby.
March 14th, 2014
Those clouds seem so low! What an interesting shot in black and white. I must admit, I wonder what it looks like in color too!
March 14th, 2014
@darylo It looks pretty good in color too, Daryl, except there is a horrible bright blue barrel in front of the old house. It blends in nicely in B&W. I'm thinking of posting a photo from near here tomorrow without the house. In color.
March 14th, 2014
Love your work Ross, this is so evocative! Hope you won't mind me following along :)
March 14th, 2014
Super mono landscape.
March 14th, 2014
@anainalens Welcome! I'm glad you enjoy my photos, and look forward to your comments.
March 14th, 2014
@ivan Thanks, Ivan. There was some strange color in this one, so a B&W conversion was a simple solution.
March 14th, 2014
Fantastic shot, great clarity. I'm surprised at the amount of snow that is still on the ground.
March 14th, 2014
I think this is my favorite shot of yours so far. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I'd totally hang this on my wall. Fav
March 15th, 2014
@jsw0109 Thanks for your most enthusiastic fav, Jeff. You made my day.
March 15th, 2014
@leananiemand Thanks, Leana. We live in a valley at nearly 6000' (1829 meteres) elevation, so our snow usually lasts much longer than most of the country.
March 15th, 2014
@rvwalker I was serious too... you so channeled Ansel Adams in this
March 15th, 2014
The mist line is quite amazing. It steals the scene from the fixer upper
March 15th, 2014
The mist was gorgeous, Peter. I saw it from my house and drove about a half mile to this scene. Five minutes after this photo, it was nearly gone.
March 16th, 2014
Wow. Those clouds/mist are amazing! At first I wasn't sure what it was. I really love your B&W work. Its always a joy to see.
March 16th, 2014
Wow love this black and white!
March 16th, 2014
Everything about this is just great; b/w, a barn, comp, low clouds and mountains. A fave!
March 16th, 2014
@stillcrappysailor Thanks, Sailor. I used to be a B&W darkroom guy, so I'm glad you like my digital work.
March 16th, 2014
@radiogirl Thanks for the fav, Kathy. I'm glad you like the B&W conversion on this one.
March 16th, 2014
@moxy Thanks for the fav, Shelley. I'm happy that you enjoy my corner of Idaho.
March 16th, 2014
I really like the way you shot this photo, so wide open and not too close. I can see so much amazing detail and love the wisp of clouds through the center of your photo. Very cool in B&W. FAV
March 17th, 2014
@darsphotos Thanks for the fav, Darlene. Those clouds are what got my attention, and I dashed out there to get this just a few minutes before they disappeared.
March 17th, 2014
Awesome scene! Love the grass breaking through in the foreground snow and the low stripe of cloud really makes it for me! Love it!
March 19th, 2014
A beautiful shot that is rather a trademark for you Ross. Has to be a Fav.
March 19th, 2014
@sassik Thanks for the great comment, Sassik. A lot of snow has disappeared sine this photo was taken.
March 20th, 2014
@seanoneill Thanks for the fav, Sean. There are hundreds of possible views of this mountain.
