Balmy weather, all is relative

At a mere -1C this morning, it was positively balmy. The Grotte seemed to be hosting a thaw with the feeder pools bearing reflections whilst shafts of sunlight brightened the surrounding evergreens.

Meanwhile, the lake is seriously frozen with 100 duck refugees. My second album ’Cutting Room Floor' records their predicament.
Looks like spring. We had sleet and freezing rain and snow. Staying safely inside. So breath some of that for me.

Like the sunlight and shadows. We have at least had sun here, after fog which stayed all day yesterday.

These feeder lakes have a certain charm whatever the season and, like you, I can never resist one more photograph of them!

A beautiful scene, and I bet it's lovely in every season.

This image pulls you in, dodging the trees further and further into the wood.

A lovely creek running through the trees. Nice sunshine making its way to the ground.

Very tranquil - almost meditative.
