Reaching out, touching me.. by s4sayer

Reaching out, touching me..

...in a way unintended by the song.

I saw this supermarket trolley of rubbish at Montfort-sur-Meu, a town nearby. It's 'displayed' outside the Law Courts. Its placard, out of shot, explained that the trolley content was debris fished out of the River Meu, which runs through the town centre. I was shocked to see the cavalier attitude of our throwaway society so poignantly captured. I took several shots with the doll, finally choosing this one as she reaches out, needing love and affection. I wonder how many children, known and unknown to me, may feel the same.

I hope that this display will encourage people to think and act responsibly vis à vis rubbish disposal.

More poignant on black.

Wonderful capture, yes it is shocking and all too common. The doll could be saying help me I am drowning in your waste.

This shot definitely tells a story of how people disrespect the living space of others. Nice clarity and details

Great piece of social commentary... the doll humanizes the message in a very poignant fashion.

Well caught and a very sobering thought about our throw away society’s attitude

It is a very poignant capture, especially with the doll included. Certainly says a lot about today's society.

Such a shame. Seems the litter on the sides of the roads has multiplied in the past year. Instead of recycling and reusing people are throwing stuff away and not necessarily in the appropriate places.

That little face is rather poignant! Nice photo.
