After the harvest by s4sayer

After the harvest

This small field was recently harvested of corn on the cob and today was being prepared for a new crop. Compared to the US grain belt, this is a but drop in the ocean. What appealed to me was the closeness to everyday life with the car approaching from the bend, more grey skies...but no badly needed rain.
Great perspective to capture the harvest aftermath...nice leading line to the vehicles

We live in the grain belt but each small parcel of land is valuable to someone and puts food on their table. I love seeing it used wisely.

I think there is a law that everything in the US must have corn in it

Nicely observed Mrs S... and your comments are spot on!

This looks like good rich dirt. (My DH keeps telling me I need to call it soil.)

A great rural scene. Nice leading lines up to the vehicles.

I truly like the intimacy in your composition. The growing and cultivation shouldn't be taken for granted as it often is.
