Rusty gubbins by s4sayer

Rusty gubbins

Am unsure what this is/was or its specific use. It's in a disused cow byre and I wonder if it was part of the water infrastructure for the cows and/or general outdoor use.

Views nicely on black
Fascinating piece of machinery. I do like old, weathered stuff. How does one view on black?

Right mouse click or tap anywhere on the photo...et le voilà! Right click or tap again to go back to non black.

When editing your photos, tap in the same way when you've finished processing/editing...to decide whether the black pleases you more and will encourage your followers to award favs. If yes, add a footnote to encourage an enhanced viewing experience ;-)

No idea what exactly it is but there's a toothed sprocket on the left side of the shaft which most likely powered a chain driven piece of machinery... good spot - I like industrial mysteries.

It looks solid and not hollow so a mystery but someone might know which would be good!

It was very common to see an old cast iron bed adapted into a gate on an Irish farm, Now though everything is disposable even humans sadly, Like this second life shot Margo.
